Rosie’s Story
This was our fastest purchase ever, going from video to sold in a single day. From the moment we saw her, we knew she was for us. This flashy stunner is located in Switzerland where she will spend the next few years growing under Marsha’s watchful eye. She is a combination of some of the best and most interesting bloodlines in dressage — Danish, German, Dutch, with just enough Trakehner thrown in to give her stamina. She has three good, clear gaits and breeding that suggests she could have a grand prix future (in Jumping or Dressage!)
What Sets Rosie Apart
Rosie has a famous dam line, known for producing winners. Her dam is the maternal half-sister of the popular stallion Zoom, and her grand mare is the full sister of the stallion Dannebrog. The dam sire, Johnson, needs no introduction. Rosie’s direct sire, Sir Charlie Chaplin, is a product of Sir Donnerhall I and Purioso. He is an all-around competitor, having jumped at 1.45 meter, and dressage up to Int. 1. He’s currently competing in young riders, in the UK.
All this AND she’s good looking? You better believe it. She has a well balanced body and nice legs. She will probably end up a darker chestnut like her dam but that can be challenging to predict this early. We will see how she sheds out. The belly spots and symmetrical, knee-high whites are just icing on the cake.
Rosie’s Training Level
Rosie will stay in Europe for now, though we would help import her if someone wants her now. Tentatively, we have a plan to breed her at three, then start her under saddle after weaning. She’s been well handled and is friendly. We’ll do some more groundwork with her as she ages.
Rosie’s Perfect Match
Whether looking for a future competitor or a broodmare with interesting bloodlines to add to your breeding program, Rosie is a good prospect.
Rosie’s Medical History
Rosie has a foal appropriate pre-purchase exam. Normally we would wait until she’s older than two to take x-rays.
